Description

1000-990R is a 3.0 mil optically clear high gloss flexible calendared PVC film coated with an optically clear solvent removable pressure sensitive adhesive laminated to a 2 mil traction backed polyester liner. This film is designed to accept a
variety of solvent-based, UV curable and latex inks common to wide format digital printing systems. The adhesive system provides clean removal from glass for up to one year under normal exposure conditions. The 2 mil polyester liner has a traction
coating to aide in processing on common digital printers.

Applications
1000-990R is designed for temporary short term interior or exterior signage, decals and point-of-purchase displays on windows where optical clarity is required.

Film 2.8 to 3.2 mils.
Adhesive 0.7 to 1.0 mil.
Liner 2.0 mils.

Dimensional Stability
Good.

Temperature Ranges
Minimum application temperature +40°F.
Service temperature is -40°F to +180°F.

Expected Exterior Life
This film contains UV inhibitors to extend exterior life up to 2 years.
However any clear vinyl film can yellow with exposure to UV radiation.
Must be tested for specific usage.

Recommendations
Completely evaporate inkjet solvents before application. Failure to do so may facilitate solvent penetration resulting in vinyl degradation.

Note for Latex Printer
Clear printable are naturally more susceptible to heat distortion than opaque white films, with optically clear film being the most sensitive due to their higher transparency and thinner construction. HP Latex printers use relatively high drying and curing temperatures combined with airflow, which can sometimes cause clear media to soften, distort, or ripple, particularly on earlier Latex models or when the media profile is not fully optimized.

Typically, reducing the curing and drying temperature by 5~10 °C and / or increasing the inter-pass delay is sufficient to prevent rippling while maintaining adhesion and image quality. For optimal results, the HP technical team should be able to provide specific recommendations on adjusting printer settings for optically clear films.
