Instead of replacing the vinyl cutter protection strip, apply this teflon tape over the area where the cutter blade travel on the platen. The non-stick, smooth surface provide a new even surface for the vinyl to go back and forth. Whenever the tape is cut through by incorrect plotter depth setting, peel off the old tape and replace with new. Ensure to clean the platen with rapid-tac glue remover and wipe clean with alcohol before a new tape application.
